London was good, different than Menwith Hill, I guess in so far that we kept moving and marching and shouting...
Not as many people as in February 15, but still a lot of us there. The second biggest march in British history, which was an achievement taking into account that Britain is at war.
We got there about 1pm and we had to run down Gower Street to catch the march, we could hear them in the distance...
Lot of children, one of my pictures is that of a young girl (12-13?) with stickers and the CND peace symbol painted on her face (I did ask her). We were in contact with the coach that went to Menwith...
I managed to hear a few of the speeches, no sign of Charles Kennedy, Jeremy Corbyn as combative and good as ever; Yvonne Ridley (journalist, she got lost in Afghanistan just before the American attack, if you remember, and was captured by the Taliban) was really good, strong and powerful.
Tariq Ali gave some unprintable description of Tony Blair and so-called President Bush, while Ken Livingstone announced special, and practical, measures to deal with the increase in racist attacks in schools... A sixteen years old Iraqi girl also spoke, really self-confident.
